All of them are real printed books - I still can not make myself to become an e-reader! I am often asked how I manage to find time to read - I would say that I read for about 8 hours a week on average (8 x 30 mins commutes to and from the office Monday to Thursday, 30 mins before going to bed several times a week and here and there across weekends).Ĥ4 titles are tidily divided into 22 fiction and 22 non-fiction titles, of which 14 are in Russian - this year I have properly dived deep into modern Russian fiction literature, and it’s been one of the personal highlights) and the rest in English.
In 2017 I have been listening to lots of podcasts, too, building on a habit that really developed last year (a list of my favourite podcasts from 2017 is at the end of this piece). We are all leading much faster lives, with new distractions appearing almost on a weekly basis, both offline and online. I am thrilled with having achieved my personal best in reading in 2017 - I was never able to read so many books in a single year thus far ( 40 in 2016, 41 in 2015, 32 in 2014, when I started this annual tradition of sharing my reading impressions).
